FINDING VALUE IN YOUR EMISSIONS
lagoonQUBE is a flexible, removable lagoon cover that operates as an anaerobic digester.
It floats on lagoons, open top tanks, settling ponds and waste-water stores, to collect biogas – CH₄ and CO₂. The lagoonQUBE also mitigates the impact of ammonia (NH3) and harvests rainwater.
The system is designed to rise and fall as stores are filled and emptied during the year. It captures latent biogas for energy generation and reduces greenhouse gas and ammonia emissions. The system also prevents excessive rainwater from entering tanks and lagoons.
lagoonQUBE is suitable for both new and existing lagoons and tanks. A gas mixing system is laid on the base of the lagoon to agitate the feedstock and enhance the natural processes of anaerobic digestion. Methane and CO₂ are captured and collected, and these can be used for on-site heat and power generation in the powerQUBE CHP.
The lagoonQUBE comes in two ways:
FULL lagoonQUBE – custom fitted to cover the full lagoon
POD lagoonQUBE – individual tessellating pods to cover a proportion of the lagoon*
*These can be interlinked to form a cover across the whole of the lagoon.
Applications:
Collecting and storing the emitted biogas which can be used for clean cooking, electricity, heat or vehicle fuel.
Reducing odours from animal waste lagoons or slurry stores
Harvesting rainwater to maximise storage potential.
Controls the emission of ammonia and harmful particulates. **
** The current government is acting to help farmers reduce ammonia emissions by incentivising the covering of lagoons and slurry stores. The government provides help through the Farming Ammonia Reduction Grant Scheme which funds slurry store covers.
